"A bottle of Dew " summary in English -
In this story, there is a man named Ramnatha who lived in a village with his wife. He was the son of a rich landlord. After the death of his father, all his wealth and lands were inherited by Ramnatha. But he did not take care of his fields. He had a silly idea that there is a magic potion which can turn any object into gold. He spent all of his time gathering information about that magic potion. His wife, Madhumati, was very worried because Ramnatha was spending a lot of money and time on the discovery of the magic potion. She convinced him that there is no magic potion that can turn anything into gold. But he did not understand that and continued his work on that idea.
One day, a saint named Mahipati came to his village. He became a follower of the saint Mahipati. One day, he went to the saint and asked him about the magic potion. He replied, "Yes, there is a magic potion. When I was on the way to the Himalayas, I heard the process of making that magic potion from the great saints of the Himalayas. But it is very hard. Ramnatha said, "Tell me that process. I will make it at any cost."
Mahipati replied, "You have to plant banana trees. There is no limit to planting those banana trees. And when the winter season arrives, you would have to collect the dew from the banana leaves. And when you complete 5 liters of dew, bring it to me. I will turn it into a magic potion by casting magical spells.
He waited for the winter season, and when the winter season came, he started collecting the dew from the banana leaves. His wife helped him too.
His wife gathered all the bananas and took them to the market and made a large profit by selling them.Another winter season came, and he repeated the same process, and his wife also made a large profit again by selling bananas in the market. The same things continued every year, and after six years, Ramnath collected 5 liters of dew. He was very happy. He went to Saint Mahipati and told him to convert that dew into a magic potion.
Saint Mahipati smiled and casted some spells. He returned the dew back. Ramnath was very happy. He went back home and sprayed a few drops of water on a copper utensil. He waited for a few minutes, but nothing happened.He became very angry and went to Mahipati and said, "You have cheated me! Because of you, I wasted six years of my precious time.Mahipati smiled and called his wife, Madhumati.
Madhumati brought with her a big box. She opened the big box in front of Ramnatha. He was shocked after seeing the box, which was fully filled with gold coins.
Mahipati explained, "It was your hard work that has paid you this much result. There is no magic potion that can turn anything into gold. Only hard work can pay you your desired gold."Ramnatha understood the plan of Saint Mahipati and Madhumati, and after that, he worked harder and harder on his field to turn his crops into gold.

इस कहानी में एक व्यक्ति है जिसका नाम रामनाथ है। वह अपनी पत्नी मधुमती के साथ एक गांव में रहता था। रामनाथ एक बड़े ज़मींदार का बेटा था। उसके पिता की मृत्यु के बाद सारी ज़मीन-जायदाद रामनाथ को मिल गई। लेकिन रामनाथ ने अपने खेतों की देखभाल नहीं की। उसे एक बचकाना ख्याल था कि कोई ऐसा जादुई अमृत है जो किसी भी चीज़ को सोने में बदल सकता है। वह दिन-रात उसी अमृत की तलाश में लगा रहता था।
मधुमती, उसकी पत्नी, बहुत परेशान थी क्योंकि रामनाथ अपनी सारी पूंजी और समय उसी जादुई अमृत को खोजने में लगा रहा था। मधुमती ने कई बार समझाया कि ऐसा कोई जादुई अमृत नहीं होता, जो चीज़ों को सोना बना सके। लेकिन रामनाथ ने उसकी बात नहीं मानी।
एक दिन गांव में एक संत आए जिनका नाम महिपति था। रामनाथ उनके प्रभाव में आ गया और उनका अनुयायी बन गया। एक दिन रामनाथ ने संत से वही सवाल किया – “क्या सच में ऐसा कोई जादुई अमृत है?” संत महिपति मुस्कराए और बोले, “हाँ, है। जब मैं हिमालय की यात्रा पर था, तो वहाँ के संतों से मुझे इसकी विधि पता चली। लेकिन ये बहुत कठिन है।” रामनाथ ने कहा, “मुझे वो विधि बताइए, मैं कुछ भी करूँगा।”
महिपति ने कहा, “तुम्हें केले के पेड़ लगाने होंगे — जितने चाहो, उतने। और जब सर्दी आए, तो इन पेड़ों की पत्तियों पर जो ओस गिरे, उसे इकट्ठा करना होगा। जब तुम 5 लीटर ओस इकट्ठा कर लोगे, तो उसे मेरे पास लाना। मैं उस पर मंत्र पढ़कर उसे जादुई अमृत में बदल दूँगा।”
रामनाथ घर गया और अपनी पत्नी से सारी बात बताई। मधुमती ने उसे समझदारी से सलाह दी और कहा, “कल से ही काम शुरू करो।”
अगले दिन रामनाथ अपने खेतों की सफाई करने लगा और केले के पेड़ लगाए। जब सर्दी आई, तो उसने पत्तियों से ओस इकट्ठा करना शुरू किया। मधुमती ने भी उसका साथ दिया। उसने खेत में उगे केलों को बाजार में बेचना शुरू किया, और इससे उन्हें अच्छा खासा मुनाफा हुआ।हर साल ऐसा ही होता रहा — रामनाथ ओस इकट्ठा करता और मधुमती केले बेचकर पैसे कमाती। छह साल बाद, आखिरकार रामनाथ ने 5 लीटर ओस इकट्ठा कर ली।
वह बहुत खुश हुआ और सीधे संत महिपति के पास गया। संत ने मंत्र पढ़े और ओस वापस उसे दे दी। रामनाथ घर आया और कुछ बूंदें तांबे के बर्तन पर डालीं, लेकिन कुछ नहीं हुआ।वह गुस्से से भर गया और संत के पास जाकर बोला, “आपने मुझे धोखा दिया! मैंने छह साल बर्बाद कर दिए!”
संत महिपति मुस्कराए और मधुमती को बुलाया। मधुमती एक बड़ा सा संदूक लेकर आई और उसे रामनाथ के सामने खोला। रामनाथ चौंक गया — वह संदूक सोने के सिक्कों से भरा हुआ था।
संत बोले, “यह सब तुम्हारी मेहनत का फल है। ऐसा कोई जादुई अमृत नहीं होता जो चीज़ों को सोने में बदल दे। सिर्फ मेहनत ही है जो इंसान को उसका सोना दिला सकती है।”
रामनाथ को सारी बात समझ आ गई। इसके बाद उसने पूरी लगन से अपने खेतों पर मेहनत की, और सच में अपनी फसल को सोने में बदल दिया।
Moral of the story -
सच्ची सफलता और समृद्धि किसी जादू या शॉर्टकट से नहीं, बल्कि निरंतर मेहनत, धैर्य और समर्पण से मिलती है।
